Acclaimed singer-producer the Weeknd is becoming a regular on the music festival circuit thanks to his modern, edgy R&B sound.

The Toronto-based singer released his proper debut album 'Trilogy' last year and saw it reach No. 1 on the R&B chart and No. 4 overall, spawning the hit 'Wicked Games.'

Adam Russakoff, Ultra’s executive producer and talent buyer, was especially thrilled to nab the Weeknd to help expand the overall sound of the event.

"That was quite the booking," he said. "It took a long time; a lot of work in there. We’re trying to keep the music-credible fans happy, the bloggers, news media; trying to crossover a bit. He does a great job for that. He’s really buzzy... We really appreciate him letting us and the fans experience how amazing he and his band are."
