Netflix’s ’13 Reasons Why’ Renewed For Season 2

'13 Reasons Why' Season 2

It looks like Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why gave the streaming service more than enough good reasons to green light more episodes: A second season of the hit show has been confirmed today, May 7.

The second season, which will consist of thirteen episodes (the same as Season 1), will debut on Netflix in 2018, which Brian Yorkey taking the reigns as showrunner. Selena Gomez will return as executive producer.

The first season of 13 Reasons Why, based on the YA novel by Jay Asher, follows the story of bullied teen Hannah Baker, as well as the aftermath of her suicide and its impact on her peers, friends, family and those who bullied her.

Despite becoming the most tweeted-about show in 2017, 13 Reasons Why was met with criticism over its portrayal of teen suicide, as well as for graphic violence and sexual content.
