When Kanye West made a surprise appearance on BET's '106 & Park' last week to support 2 Chainz, we were expecting to hear something from the 'Watch the Throne' rapper. However, the usually vocal Yeezy was all quiet as he allowed 2 Chainz to talk about their collaboration on the G.O.O.D. Music track 'Mercy.' It left many fans scratching their heads.

For 2 Chainz, it was all part of the plan for 'Ye to not say a word during his visit. "That's my dog and he doesn't do press -- he didn't wanna do it period -- and they kind of forced his hand," the Atlanta rapper tells MTV. "I was like, 'You don't have to say nothing, bro,' because at the end of the day I knew he was up there supporting me, period."

Yeezy's appearance did spark some excitement about his upcoming contribution to 2 Chainz's solo debut LP 'Based on a T.R.U. Story.' "When he came out, it spilled the beans out the bag, but it was cool," he says. "It was good for hip-hop that he came out and showed support. He wasn't trying to take the shine, but he's just a megastar, anywhere he goes it's gonna happen."

2 Chainz's new album 'Based on a T.R.U. Story' will hit stores on Aug. 14, with the lead single due out on May 1.
