On Oct. 1, BET taped their 2011 Hip-Hop Awards, and plenty of stars showed up for the event, including Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Busta Rhymes plus many more. Although the show was recorded on Oct. 1, it will not be broadcasted until Oct. 11 on BET.

As you can see in these pictures from the beginning hours of the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards, the red carpet was absolutely oozing with star power. Rappers like Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross showed up with their respective posses -- members of Ross' Maybach Music Group, including Wale, and Busta's rappin' entourage the Conglomerate. Also on the red carpet were Big Sean, rap collective Travis Porter, and old-school rhyme-slinger LL Cool J.

During the award show, LL Cool J was honored with the I Am Hip Hop Award, which was presented to the 'Mama Said Knock You Out' hitmaker by fellow hip-hop superstar Nelly. Busta Rhymes also snagged the award for Sweet 16 Best Featured Verse Award, undoubtedly for his mile-a-minute verse on Chris Brown's 'Look at Me Now,' which is nominated in several other categories. Wale also snagged an award during the ceremony, and he was escorted to the stage his with his entire crew.

As for performances, Wiz Khalifa treated the audience to what looked like an electrifying performance in front of a green and gold backdrop. Check out the Taylor Gang's head honcho as he unleashes a high kick in this batch of pictures! Also on the performance lineup for the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards were Lupe Fiasco and Erykah Badu, Big Sean and Roscoe Dash, Heavy D and Tyrese, and DMX and Swizz Beatz (we're hoping they performed 'Get It on the Floor). It's great to see DMX back in the rap game!

Stay tuned for extra coverage of the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards when they air on Oct. 11 at 8PM EST.
