The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards are about one thing: The music -- honoring those who entertain us with their hit singles, catchy lyrics and, of course, sweet dance moves. It makes sense that the VMAs would be loaded with live performances, and tonight's showcase was unstoppable, with musical moments from Lady Gaga (dressed as a man), Beyonce, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Adele and many more.

The 2011 edition of the VMAs had a little bit of something for everyone, whether you like Pitbull or Bruno Mars. Naturally, the music-based network paid special tribute to Amy Winehouse, who died in July, and the awards show even spotlighted one artist whose career made a revival this year; Britney Spears, of course. Dancers rocked their bodies to a mash-up performance of her hits, including '...Baby One More Time,' 'Toxic,' 'Crazy,' 'Hold It Against Me' and more, and even sported the memorable outfits she wore in each music video.
