2011 PopCrush Music Awards: Best New Artist

In this installment of our 2011 PopCrush Music Awards, music fans will be able to vote on the Best New Artist from this past year. While seasoned singers like Britney Spears, Rihanna and Lady Gaga were blowing up the charts, a group of extremely talented and young newcomers broke onto the scene and gave the divas a run for their money.

First off, British singer Jessie J, 22, had a huge year, with singles like 'Price Tag' and 'Domino' off of her debut 'Who You Are' album spinning non-stop throughout 2011. She even scored a slot as House Artist at the 2011 MTV VMAs. Dev also dominated the dancefloor this year with her hit 'In the Dark,' in addition to scoring features on a plethora of tracks (including the David Guetta song 'I Just Wanna F.'). 2011 will also go down as a momentous year for rappers J. Cole and Mac Miller, who both debuted on No. 1 with their first solo LP's. Closing out our nominee list is Cody Simpson, 14, who has become the newest teen heartthrob virtually overnight thanks to his feel-good pop songs.
