Layers – 2013 SXSW Survival Guide

The March weather in Austin can be unpredictable, so you want to pack and dress for absolutely every imaginable climate during SXSW. Thankfully, Austin is a super casual city to begin with, so even if you dress predominantly for comfort, you won't feel underdressed.

Rocking tanks and tees under cardigans, hoodies, denim and/or motorcycle jackets is a safe bet. You can always take a layer off and toss it into your bag (more on that in a moment), but you can't add any on if you've already left your hotel.

Even if it's toasty during the day and within crowded clubs, if you wind up going to an otherwise sparsely attended show or walk around at night, it may get cool -- and you don't need goosebumps cramping your style and killing your fun.
