Microsoft is taking the smartphone wars very seriously, as the company continues to aggressively market its Windows Phones against Apple's iPhone. The company has released a series of commercials spoofing Apple's voice-assisted Siri app against Windows' own personal assistant app named Cortana.

In the latest 2014 ad, titled 'Mirror, Mirror,' the commercial focuses on the HTC One M8. In a thinly veiled jab at the iPhone, Cortana declares that the HTC One M8 is "more than just a pretty face," as it showcases some capabilities missing from the iPhone, such as more advanced traffic planning and dual-stereo speakers.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Apple announced an upgrade to the iPhone line with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, so it will be interesting to see how companies such as Microsoft and Samsung will strike back with advertising.

The song heard in the ad is called 'You Always Make Me Smile' by Kyle Andrews, a singer-songwriter from Chicago, Ill. His songs have also been used in national TV commercials for brands such as Dell and Doritos.
