If you thought the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards put on a good shows stateside, you should have seen what the network did when it crossed the Atlantic.

Last night (October 25), some of music's best and brightest gathered at the Mediolanum Forum near Milan, Italy to honor everything from Best World Stage Performance to Video Visionary Award. Justin Bieber proved to be one of the night's big winners, but it was the performances—to which Biebs contributed an energetic take on "What Do You Mean?"—that may have been the most memorable part.

Between sets by Jason Derulo, Tori Kelly and Ellie Goulding, no inch of the stage was left untouched. While Goulding tore through her ever-popular "Love Me Like You Do" and Derulo stuck with earworm "Want To Want Me" as a means to charm the crowd, Kelly mixed things up when she paired her "Should've Been Us" alongside the classic "Ready or Not" for a truly electrifying few minutes.

And, not to be outdone, show host Ed Sheeran joined with Rudimental for a take on "Lay It All On Me" that viewers wouldn't soon forget.
