The time has come! The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will get underway this evening (Sunday, September 17), airing live on CBS from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. EST.

Following in the footsteps of last year's master of ceremonies Jimmy Kimmel, first-time host Stephen Colbert will emcee the gala, which recognizes television's topliners by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Among tonight's contenders include Westworld and SNL, leading the throng with 22 nominations respectively; cult favorites House of CardsStranger Things and This Is Us vying for the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy; and newcomer success Big Little Lies filling out the Outstanding Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category, with The Handmaid's Tale actress Ann Dowd and Orange is the New Black alum Samira Wiley playing for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series statuette.
