You asked, they answered: 5 Seconds of Summer's new single has officially arrived… plus, the band is going on tour this spring!

On Thursday night (February 22), mere hours before the promised debut of their new song, the Australian ensemble surprised 5SOSers with an early release of the group's first musical effort in nearly two years, a pining party track entitled "Want You Back."

After 18 months spent on the road and years of nail-biting anticipation from their fans, bandmates Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, and Calum Hood finally delivered on their commitments of new music with a song that's just as much of a mid-tempo serenade as it is a jam made great for jigging.

Sleek guitar shreds and upbeat 808s collide perfectly as the band's signature reverberated chorus echoes in the background, making "Want You Back" a sure-fire playlist favorite.

And as if this new pop track wasn't satisfying enough, 5SOS also announced they are gearing up for their 5SOS3 tour this spring, which kicks off on March 20. For their new Spring 2018 tour, the band will perform 26 dates worldwide, with shows expected to feature more new music off their forthcoming record, releasing via Capitol Records later on this year.

“Finally… It’s been 3 years since our last album and we are so ready to share new music with the world,” 5SOS told fans in a press release statement. “After spending the last 5 years on the road since the age of 16, it was important we took time to reflect as individuals and now we’re coming back stronger and more unified than ever. These songs mean the world to us and we have held nothing back in writing and recording this album. We’ve been rehearsing a lot of the new songs live and can’t wait to get back out on tour to connect with our incredible fans."

Set your calendars (and alarms!), 5SOSers: tickets for the 5SOS3 tour go on sale to the general public on Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. local time at Live Nation.
