2014 People Magazine Awards -- Winners List

Tonight (Dec. 18) marks the first ever People Magazine Awards. Meant to be a celebration of the past year in pop culture, the awards show presented different categories throughout the night that were accepted by some of Hollywood's most esteemed stars.

The categories were kept a near secret until the awards show aired, but we managed to keep a close eye on the broadcast and compile a list of tonight's big winners for you! There was only one fan voted award, which was an award for Best People Magazine Cover of the Year, that fans could vote on through Twitter.

The winner for the Hero of the Year award was announced early as going to Nora Sandigo, the founder and Executive Director of American Fraternity Inc., and her efforts to help immigrants and their families gain rights and adjust to cultural difference in the U.S.

Breakout Star of the Year -- Billy Eichner

TV Couple of the Year -- Chris Messina + Mindy Kaling

Hero of the Year -- Nora Sandigo

Best People Magazine Cover of the Year -- Robin Williams In Memoriam
