David Schwimmer will finally be returning to television to play the part of a Kardashian. And no, that is not a sentence we ever thought we'd write.

According to the LA Times, the former 'Friends' funny man is set to star in the upcoming Ryan Murphy series 'American Crime Story,' which will follow in the footsteps of Ryan's other standout show 'American Horror Story,' by focusing an entire season on a single case. The first season will be a dramatization of the controversial O.J. Simpson trial, in which O.J. was famously acquitted of murder, being found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. O.J.’s defense attorney and close friend, Robert Kardashian, will be played by Schwimmer.

Cuba Gooding Jr. has been cast to play O.J. Simpson and Sarah Paulson will play the part of prosecutor Marcia Clark. There’s still no word as to who will play the defense attorney, Johnny Cochran (who famously coined the term ‘If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit’), or Judge Lance Ito.

‘American Crime Story’ will mark David Schwimmer’s first time back to television as a regular cast member since his role as Ross Geller on ‘Friends.’ Considering the recent surge in popularity of true crime stories, like the immensely successful 'Serial' podcast, we’re definitely looking forward to this one!
