About to Pop: Miguel, Martin Solveig + More Singles
Enrique Iglesias has nabbed this week About to Pop slot, winning the most fan votes for his new single 'Finally Found You,' featuring rapper Sammy Adams. This means Enrique's new club-ready, love song will receive 20+ spins on our radio show this weekend! Congrats Enrique and to the fans that voted! Check out a list of stations where you can hear 'Finally Found You' here.
This week, Miguel is the first artist in PopCrush's About to Pop competition. The sexy R&B crooner's summer single 'Adorn' in the running, and the midtempo love song might just take the win thanks to his silky smooth vocals and danceable beat. French DJ Martin Solveig follows Miguel with his blood-pumping electro track 'The Night Out,' which is so incredibly catchy it could become as big as his hit 'Hello' -- plus, his voice sounds amazing, which is impressive considering most DJs don't usually sing on their records.
'Adorn' and 'The Night Out' are joined by Coldplay's 'Hurts Like Heaven,' the band's fifth single off of 'Mylo Xyloto.' Unlike the intensity of their last single 'Princess of China,' the new wave-inspired 'Hurts Like Heaven' has a much more lighthearted feel, with a simple, fast-paced, guitar-driven beat that somehow feels dreamy and urgent at the same time. Ne-Yo is up next with his song 'Let Me Love You (Until You Love Yourself),' an uptempo track that incorporates R&B and Eurodance elements and makes you wanna get off that thang and shake till you feel better.
Finally, up-and-coming pop punk band We Are the in Crowd are nominated for 'Kiss Again,' their collaboration with Alex Gaskarth. The co-ed quintet have a distinct sound with their mix of female and male vocals, and the hopeful pop-rock song has won us over.
