Adam Lambert Close to Settling ‘American Idol’ Lawsuit
Lambert was sued by Colwel Platinum Entertainment in November for appearing on the hit competition series after he allegedly teamed up with the entertainment company to market his album 'Beg for Mercy,' which was recorded between April 2007 and September 2008.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, lawyers for both Lambert and Colwel Platinum Entertainment recently submitted an extension request for certain papers. According to the stipulation, "The parties' transactional counsel have negotiated and agreed upon the material terms of a settlement ... Reflected in a series of emails between said counsel."
The case judge was informed that an executed agreement would be completed by Friday, and THR confirmed that a settlement is being finalized. No details about the terms have been released.
Neither Lambert nor his reps have commented on the settlement, but when word of the lawsuit got out in November, the singer tweeted: "Remember than in any dispute, reserve judgement until all the facts surface from ALL parties. Guilt and innocence come with a complete story."
