Adam Lambert has been holed up in the studio working on the follow-up to his 2009 debut 'For Your Entertainment,' and he's enlisted the help of OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia to create his sophomore effort.

"I think I've probably written about 18 to 20 songs. I've been spending the past two and a half months in the studio," the 'American Idol' alum told MTV News. "I'm writing most of the material with people myself this time ... I'm really involved. It's really exciting because I think I'm making my dream album. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but I'm making exactly what I want to listen to."

While his post-'Idol' release was written and produced by a team of carefully selected music vets, the Indiana native is taking a more personal approach to his new record in order to make it more "honest and real." Tedder, Costa and Sia are no strangers to penning chart-topping hits, so Lambert is in good hands. "I'm learning so much from everybody, so that's probably the best part," he added.

A release date for the album has not yet been set. Until then, the singer is celebrating the release of his live concert CD and film, 'Glam Nation Live,' on Blu-ray, as well as his Most Watched Video of the Year nomination at the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards for his single 'If I Had You.' The MMVAs will air on MuchMusic and Fuse on June 19 at 9PM.
