The Original High is now in full effect.

After months of teasing his darker, more grounded Max Martin-executive produced pop effort, Idol alum Adam Lambert has finally unleashed his powerful collection of thumping dance tunes and soaring pop anthems this week (June 16).

And this morning, the ridiculously talented crooner headed to Live With Kelly & Michael (err, with NeNe Leakes today) to promote his new record and perform the spooky, whistlin' lead single, "Ghost Town." Unsurprisingly, the gifted vocalist sounded fantastic while serving up his pulsating track, belting out in a way that only an ongoing touring frontman for Queen could.

After the performance, the singer joined Michael and NeNe to discuss his new album — and his new look. "I just changed the way I was eating a little bit, I've been exercising. Doing my hikes in LA," he explained when the hosts showered him with compliments about his appearance. NeNe gave him a knowing nudge. After all, he owes her everything! Back in 2012, NeNe taught Adam the ins and outs of being a true di-VAAA right before hosting VH1 Divas in a hilarious skit. (Duck lips! Pose! Work!)

A sequel to that diva session is long overdue — although the troupe's brief three-way hoedown to "Ghost Town" at the very end of the segment was just enough of a riot to hold us over.
