Today, we are pitting Adam Lambert's 'Better Than I Know Myself' against up-and-coming singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey and her latest single 'Born to Die.'

On the ballad 'Better Than I Know Myself,' Lambert delivers glass-shattering vocals during the refrain as he sings about that special connection that lovers have despite the fights and struggles. On 'Born to Die,' Del Rey also croons about relationship problems in her smoky and sultry voice -- even though the spark seems to be fading between her and her man, Del Rey won't give up on rediscovering that passion. Both of the songs are slower tunes, boasting a heavy backbeat consisting of clashing 808's. However, Lambert incorporates synth into 'Better Than I Know Myself,' whereas Del Rey keeps it classic with a string section.
