Adam Levine's star continues to ascend. The Maroon 5 singer and 'The Voice' coach is said to be in final negotiations to take a role in the second season of FX's 'American Horror Story.' The series is generating plenty of buzz, so Levine could see a further wave of fame if he does indeed star on the show next season.

According to EW, Levine would play a contemporary character who is one half of a couple known as "The Lovers." Further details about the second season, such as who the other "Lover" will be, are under lock and key, if they are even determined at this point.

This would be Levine's first scripted TV role.

With his gig on 'The Voice' and now a possible TV show on the horizon, Levine appears to be shifting further away from music in favor of other arms of the entertainment world.

While we love his honest and hard-hitting critiques of contestants on 'The Voice,' and that grandpa cardigan he has been wearing during the taped battle rounds, that's still Adam Levine being Adam Levine. We'd like to see the singer/coach as a lovah on our small screens. Bring it, Ad Rock!
