Adam Levine chose to pit Javier Colon against Angela Wolff in the second week of battle rounds on 'The Voice.' The two singers were asked to compete by singing Ben E. King's classic track 'Stand by Me.'

"When I found out I was being paired with Javier, I was really excited because he's amazing," said Wolff. "But on the other hand, he's probably the best singer in this entire competition, so I'm really, really, really scared."

Colon, who wowed the judges with his performance of Cyndi Lauper's 'Time After Time' during the audition, wasn't taking the battle round for granted. "For the blind auditions, I was fortunate enough to have everybody turn around for me," remarked Colon. "But it's a whole new ballgame. I still have to come out and prove myself."

The two were mentored by Levine and Maroon 5 music director Adam Blackstone prior to the battle performance, with Levine telling Colon that he needed to tone down his vocals for the song.

"I think that Javier has been seen as a favorite, and I think he's amazing," remarked Levine. "But there's a lot of people that can surprise you."

When they hit the stage, Colon started off the song and showed just why he is one of the favorites in the competition with his smooth, pitch-perfect voice. Wolff put up a good fight in what appeared to be a very friendly competition, but it was hard for her to match Colon's vocal ability.

While Adam deliberated, the three other coaches all gave the nod to Colon. In what was probably the easiest decision of the night, Levine picked Colon. "I gotta go with Javier," said the Maroon 5 frontman.
