Adele Covers British Vogue, Talks ‘Freak-Outs’ Before Live Performances
The English Rose known as Adele is the latest British Vogue cover star, and rightfully so. Her sophomore set '21' is one of the best-selling, most critically adored albums of 2011 because the girl can sing. She's also wickedly funny, to say nothing of her head-turning beauty! But even someone as beautiful and blessed as Adele battles some fears! What frightens Adele, 23? Stepping on stage! The thought of such an action actually moves her to toss her cookies.
"I puke quite a lot before going on stage," Adele revealed with candor. She never throws up while on the stage; she just spews before she steps onto it! The pre-show vomit has an upside, though. It actually ensures a better performance. She continued, "I s--- myself before everything ... The bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!" Right on!
On the cover shot, Adele's face is framed by larger-than-life waves, while her simple-but-statement-making make up consists of smoky eyes and nude, matte lips. It's a perfect look for fall. Speaking of her looks, Adele once again confirmed that she is confident and comfortable with her plus-size figure and stated that she will not be pressured to change in order to suit Hollywood's desire for its stars to be pin thin. She said, "I've seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don't want that in my life ... I have [body] insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me." See why Adele is uh-mazing?
Adele affirmed that she is single and that's also something that's better for her pursuit of her art! She admitted that "I do get massively distracted when I've got someone in my life, which I can't afford to do right now." Ah, don't we all get distracted by the one we love or crush on?
However, Adele is also busy conducting a love affair with someone incredibly important: Herself! She said about her solo status: "Besides, no one treats me as well as I do."
If and when Adele does meet Mr. Right and they start making plans for a brood of kids, Adele is sure about one thing. She wants a boy's soccer team.
"I've always got on better with boys. Most of my friends are boys," Adele said. "Like, if I have children, I want five boys. Boys love their mothers whereas girls can be so mean to each other." Adele's going to have a bunch of mama's boys! There is nothing wrong with that!
Adele looks gorgeous in the head shot of the October version of the British edition of Vogue, which hits stands on Thursday.
