Adele climbed into James Corden's Carpool Karaoke ride last night (January 13), and it more than exceeded our expectations — and earned the record-breaking singer a cheer from Nicki Minaj.

The duo kick off their traveling show with a performance of "Hello," during which Corden surprises (and ultimately dazzles) Adele with his harmonies. "That was amazing," she says — and it is.

The singer also tackles the Spice Girls, imparts some tidbits about her future albums — "this is the last album [named] after my age," she says, "I believe in trilogies" — and then she saves the biggest surprise for last.

"I heard you can spit some rhymes," Corden teases, and Adele proceeds to nail Nicki Minaj's breakthrough verse on Kanye West's "Monster" — and the rapper approves.

"Pull thru, QUEEN!!!!!" Minaj gushed on Twitter, after watching Adele's full commitment to the performance. Watch the karaoke session, and interview, above.
