In June, a 12-year-old, ukelele-playing contestant earned rave reviews from America's Got Talent judges, and Simon Cowell went as far as to say that Grace VanderWaal would be the next Taylor Swift. On last night's (August 23) episode, the judges did VanderWaal one better, and insisted it's only a matter of time before she eclipses the 1989 singer entirely.

In front of a glowing pink tree, VanderWaal delivered a signature scaled-down-but-powerful performance as part of Season 11's quarter-finals. She penned her original song, "Beautiful Thing," for her sister, and by the set's end, the judges — all standing — had clearly found this race's thoroughbred.

Howie Mandel predicted she'd be "bigger than Taylor Swift," adding "I predict you are the biggest star to ever come out of this show." Heidi Klum gushed, too, and called VanderWaal one in a million.

And Cowell doubled down on VanderWaal's appeal.

"Some of the stuff you were playing, maybe the notes were wrong, the voice is a bit croaky at times. But that is what makes you perfect," he said. "I am going to predict we're all going to remember the moment in years to come when we saw Grace sing live for the first time
