Shh! Don't tell her ex-fiancee, the newly single Ryan Reynolds, but Alanis Morissette has recorded a new song, 'Into a King,' as an anniversary present for her husband, rapper Mario 'Souleye' Treadway. The couple has been married for a year -- May 22, to be exact -- and they are proud parents of a new son, Ever, who was born on Christmas Day 2010.

It's an earthy celebration of the couple's love as well as what lies ahead of them! Morissette is truly, madly and deeply in love with her husband and the song reflects her feelings. The tune alternates between sweetly touching and almost overly romantic, but we don't doubt her sincerity when she sings, "Happy anniversary, baby / You've gone from a prince into a king / Happy anniversary, darling / I've gone from a maiden to a queen."

Overall, the dreamy, almost magical song is a paean to the redemptive and transforming power of love. Morissette has come a long way from the angst-addled days of being supremely pissed at a lover whom she went "down on in a theater" and had no issue with wanting to "remind [him] of the mess [he] left when [he] went away."

The singer ends the song repeating, "I do, I do, I do," and she sounds thrilled at having made this commitment. Even if you end up rolling your eyes and thinking it's cheesy, this song comes from a place of love and was not manufactured by a songwriter for Morissette to sing.

Happy anniversary, Alanis and Mario. We hope you have many more joyous anniversaries together.
