Since his time on Fox's Glee as Unique Adams, Alex Newell has been preparing for his pop music takeover, one incredible song at a time.

Following his debut single, an effervescent, '80s inspired cover of Sigma's "Nobody to Love," Newell turned out three collaborations, all to positive critical reception. The first was his soulful contribution to Clean Bandit's thumping reissue of their track "Stronger." The second was Blonde's emotional house jam "All Cried Out," and the third was disco-centric "Collect My Love" with production duo The Knocks.

Today, Newell is back with a solo track entitled "This Ain't Over," which serves as the lead single from his upcoming debut EP, POWER. Listen below.

"No doubt you wrote me off long ago / But now I won't give up / This ain't over, over over," Newell proclaims as the beat builds during the first half of the chorus. "And each time you let me off, cut the rope / I just come back harder / This ain't over, over, over," Newell croons, finishing just before the beat drops into a Disclosure-inspired mini breakdown.

Newell's POWER EP is scheduled for release on February 19th via Big Beat Records and boasts production credits from Diane Warren and Nile Rodgers, SPIN reports.

And look for Newell on tour with Adam Lambert later this year as part of the Original High Tour.
