We haven't heard new music from Alicia Keys since 2009 when she dropped her fourth LP 'The Element of Freedom,' which included the New York anthem 'Empire State of Mind' (featuring Jay-Z). Since then she's been enjoying marital bliss with her hubby Swizz Beatz and motherhood with her newborn son Egypt.

At the star-studded iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last night (Sept. 23), Mrs. Beatz unveiled a new song she's been working on in the studio since her maternity leave from the music biz. The song is an inspirational tune titled 'A Place of My Own.'

On the soul-stirring track, Keys sings of perseverance through tough times. "This life can seem so unfair / But who cares / If I can rise up / Then I will get there / Because I'm looking for a place to call my own / Looking for a house to make a home / Looking for a seat upon a throne / Looking for a place to call my own," she croons.

Listening to the song, it sounds like the Grammy award-winning songbird has another strong anthem on her hands. We can't wait for Keys to start releasing new material and, hopefully, a full-length album in 2012. Enjoy the video below.
