'American Idol' Season 8 finalist Anoop Desai finished sixth in the competition, with Kris Allen taking the crown that year, but this singer remains undeterred by his loss and continues to release music in droves. Desai will release 'Zero.0' on April 20 via iTunes -- the first of three albums the singer plans to release this year. He is both writing and producing, too. That's what we call prolific.

Desai is so busy working on 30+ songs that he plans to release this year that he hasn't had much time to watch the revamped version of 'Idol' this year. "I haven't had a chance to watch consistently this season," Desai admitts to KISS 95.1. "A lot of people were quick to predict the demise of 'American Idol' after Simon Cowell left but it's about the people who are on the stage and how easily fans connect to them." Desai continues to directly connect with his fans and keeps them satiated with new music.

Despite not being super well-versed about the 'Idol' goings on this season, Desai, who admits that he likes to hustle and get people to hear his music, did say that he supports fellow North Carolina contestant, the fan favorite Scotty McCreery.

The romantically unattached Desai also talked about writing what's in his head and taking lyrical inspiration from life as he knows it.
