David Cook's dance card is filling up pretty quickly. Not only will the 'American Idol' alum be releasing his new album, 'This Loud Morning,' on June 28, but he has also been tapped to headline the NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) Convention awards dinner on Thursday, May 12.

According to Billboard, Cook will perform four songs at the Hyatt Regency Century City Hotel in Los Angeles, and will share the stage with Tyrese Gibson and Matt Nathanson, who are also scheduled to perform that evening.

In honor of its 10th season, 'American Idol' will be the recipient of an Outstanding Achievement Award from the music trade association. 'Idol' judges and alums, including Cook, have been invited to participate in the presentation. Nicki Minaj, Brian Wilson, Annie Lennox and more will also be honored at the event.

"We're thrilled to have such an eclectic and talented lineup of performers to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our 2011 NARM award winners," Jim Donio, president of NARM, said in a statement. "I'm looking forward to an evening of great music and also the pleasure of honoring these outstanding artists and executives, whose work exemplifies the very best of our industry."
