The girl who fell just short of being an 'American Idol' last year returned to the 'Idol' stage tonight to show the nation what they missed out on -- not to say that Lauren Alaina hasn't been on her grind in the past year. She strutted her stuff in front of the judges while performing 2011's hit 'Georgia Peaches,' and got a standing ovation.

Backed by a full band, Lauren entered the stage in a pink, sparkly, off-the-shoulder number, and after greeting her fans, proceeded to dazzle everybody with an energetic rendition of her country hit. The throaty soul in her voice doesn't reflect her demeanor. She actually seemed a bit meek as a performer, but she used this to her advantage, walking up and down the stage and then taking a minute to sit down with a few of the show's male contestants.

During the last verse, she sat down next to Deandre Brackensick, and he was obviously star struck. She finished off the sassy performance strong, and drew massive support from the crowd and the judges. Perhaps someone was resenting some criticism they gave last season? All the judges immediately stood to cheer her on. This definitely isn't the last we'll hear of this killer voice.
