Mariah Carey, diva of all divas, takes her work both as a singer and as an 'American Idol' judge very seriously. What she doesn't take so seriously? Herself. That's why it's so easy to love her!

She and Randy Jackson were on hand with Extra to chat about her role on the show and the changes -- besides the judging panel -- that the Fox juggernaut has this season.

"This is the first time we've ever had Sudden Death," Jackson said. Mimi interjected, "And who came up with that name?! I hated even saying it!"

Carey was extremely sympathetic with the plight of the hopefuls on 'American Idol' this season. "What they're up against is incredibly difficult," she said, "and I don't envy them. I had to learn to perform on TV, you know? On 'Arsenio Hall.' I feel like I can relate to these girls even now."

The 'Almost Home' singer also dished on her anniversary plans with hubby Nick Cannon, admitting that she may go to Disney to ring in their fifth year of wedded bliss. "Last year we renewed our vows at the top of the Eiffel Tower," she smiled. "That's gonna be hard to top!"

A Disney celebration would fit for the pair, who tied the knot on April 30 -- especially because it's also Dem Babies' birthday!
