Ariana Grande, who is nipping at Mariah Carey's Louboutins for diva-with-a-huge-voice dominance, shared a minute-long snippet of a new song online.

The singer, 20, has used social media to keep her precious Arianators updated about the progress on her follow up to her No. 1-charting debut 'Yours Truly.' Now, she has used it to share an actual piece of music.

Grande is partially obscured in the clip, joking that she wasn't allowed to play that much of the song and that if she played any more, she'd get in trouble, presumably by her label or her manager.

But she was certainly generous, playing about 50 seconds of the song, in which shit hits all the high notes, singing, "They don't understand" with passion and warmth in her voice, as though her voice will make you understand. Her powerhouse vox is backed by finger snaps and beats. It has an almost doo-wop-meets-urban feel, judging from the limited sample.

Since 'Don't Be Gone Too Long,' the singer's duet with Chris Brown, has been been pushed back while the embattled R&B star sits in jail due to a probation violation, Grande gave fans a sonic gift. It was a nice consolation prize.

Arianators should thank the singer via social media for this lovely little gift.
