A$AP Rocky’s Father Passes Away

Sad news to report in the hip-hop community. A$AP Rocky's father passed away. The Harlem rhyme-spitter confirmed the sad news on his Twitter feed today (Dec. 26) with a picture of his late dad.

"R.I.P DAD , UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. SEE MY DADDY IN HEAVEN , HE BE DA REALIST G" TTTL," he solemnly tweeted (spotted by Global Grind).

No word on how Rocky's father died, but this isn't the first time Rocky had to grieve over an untimely death in the family. The 24-year-old rapper lost his older brother to the street life when he was about 13 years old.

In an interview with Vice, Rocky explained how his father influenced his unique fashion style. "Well, my dad is from Barbados. He was a clean cut kind of a guy, especially in the way he dressed," he told the website. "I just took the advice he gave me and I ran with it. He told me to always be yourself and always feel comfortable with whatever decision you make because you chose to do it. Just because something doesn’t fit in doesn’t mean it’s not right."

Upon hearing the news of Rocky's father passing, Rihanna went on Twitter and tweeted out her sympathy to his family. "My most sincere condolences bro #BajanBlood," she wrote on her timeline. As you know, the two will be hitting the road together in March on the Diamonds World Tour.
