It's splitsville for another Hollywood couple. Fallout Boy’s Pete Wentz -- yes, we know, the band is on hiatus -- and his wife of two-and-a-half years, pop star Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, have filed for divorce. The couple married in an Alice in Wonderland type ceremony in May 2008. Their only child, son Bronx Mowgli, was born in November of that year.

The soon-to-be-former-couple issued a statement which read as follows: "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives."

Simpson-Wentz, 26, will drop the "Wentz" from her name and be restored to her maiden moniker. In her divorce documents, she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of the split. She is seeking spousal support and primary physical custody of Bronx with visitation for Wentz, 31.

Other sources told PEOPLE that the couple had simply grown apart and had been battling that gap for some time.
