The picking-off process has begun on 'American Idol,' as big-haired, diva-in-training Ashthon Jones was voted off the show this week.

Thirty million Americans cast their votes last night and three of the ladies comprised the bottom three. Jones, Haley Reinhart and Karen Rodriguez were America's least favorites this week, but it was Reinhart and Rodriguez who were given the chance to move onto the next round.

That left Jones in the hot seat and she had to go for the save. She was given one chance to let her room-filling voice garner a reprieve and she elected to channel the lovely, and talented Diana Ross.

It was indeed Jones' last stand. The judges are allowed only one save per season, and by virtue of an imperfect performance and the fact that they were probably not ready to spend their save this early in the competition, Jones was sent home. Jennifer Lopez told the aspiring singer that it was also a unanimous decision not to give her a save, even though they all picked her as a wild card last week due to her attitude and confidence behind the mic.

You win some, you lose some. Jones won last week and lost this week and despite it all, she has a bright future ahead of her. Good luck, girl!
