Austin Mahone Signs to Chase Records

Up-and-coming teen sensation Austin Mahone, who many industry insiders predict will give teen titan Justin Bieber a run for his well-coiffed money, has signed to brand new imprint label Chase Records. The label will be marketed and distributed through Universal Republic. Mahone is the perfect "test" artist to launch a brand new record company, since he already has so much going for him. It's a win-win.

Mahone, whose single 'Say Somethin' is currently a hot hit at radio, is holed up and working with Bei Maejor on his full-length debut. It's due out this fall.

Mahone will celebrate the signing to Chase and his forthcoming album with a much anticipated appearance on 'Live! With Kelly' on Sept. 20. He will perform 'Say Somethin' and it will mark his TV performance debut, as well. At least by that time we'll know who Kelly Ripa's new co-host is!

So it's essentially a season of firsts for the Texas-born Mahone, who just turned 16 in April. He's got his first album on the horizon and is gearing up for his first major televised performance, along with being the first artist on a brand new label. It's a lot of pressure, sure, but Mahone has the God-given talent to make something of himself in this crazy business, and he's already off to a running start.
