Liam Hemsworth Jetted Off to Australia Amidst Miley Cyrus Split Rumors

It's getting harder and harder to deny that there are clear problems in Miley Cyrus' love life right now. And apparently there's more proof that things are getting worse: Liam Hemsworth jetted off to Australia, leaving Cyrus behind.

"Miley is still upset with Liam," a source told PEOPLE. "She took the ring off to make him mad." Still, it may not be the end. The source assured, "It doesn't mean that they have split. Miley says they are still together."

They're together in a sense that they haven't broken up, but not in the sense that they're with one another right now. The source revealed, "Liam did fly home [to Australia on March 1] so they could have a break." That may explain why they haven't been spotted out together, right?

As for the January Jones rumors, the source said not to automatically assume it was anything shady with Hemsworth: "[They] used to go clubbing together in L.A. They have been friends for a while."

The source said that there are a lot of issues with the couple, but one may be worse than the rest. "Miley is crazy about Liam, but sometimes doesn't treat him great," the source revealed. "She likes things her way and tends to play games. Liam is also a strong person and that's why they often butt heads."

Meanwhile, sources told Us Weekly that the couples' careers and demanding schedules are a problem, as well as Cyrus' new image.

“Miley put her career on hold to spend all her time on Liam. Now that she’s back recording her fourth album, he’s not happy,” the source said. “Liam fell in love with how free spirited she is, but now he’s struggling to understand this transformation ... she says she’s over it.”
