The 'X Factor' premiere reached an emotional high point tonight when Jillian Jensen sang Jessie J's 'Who You Are'. The 19-year-old from Rochester, Massachusetts delved into her sad backstory of how she was intensely bullied from a young age through high school, dissolving into tears as she talked of bullies tormenting her.
Emblem3, a band (but don't call them a boy band!) consisting of two brothers and their friend, stormed the 'X Factor' stage and performed an original song called 'Sunset Boulevard.' The Huntington Beach natives were portrayed as skater bros before taking the stage, and even engaged in a rivalry with a fellow contestant and ex-boy band member.
Performing alt-rock phenom Bon Iver's 'Skinny Love,' Lindsey Pavao came full circle on 'The Voice.' After an emotional save by Christina last week, Lindsey needed to show America why she was an original fan favorite. She proved her worth and more by taking on a song directly in her wheelhouse.
Team Christina took to the stage to perform with their mentor tonight on 'The Voice' in an everything but the kitchen sink mash-up performance of fellow coach Blake Shelton's 'Hillbilly Bone' and Aguilera's own 'Fighter.' They were even backed up by a high school choir. It was as insane and bizarre as it sounds.
Our fearless judges were in good spirits as always, and some even dressed appropriately! We were proud of Cee Lo for rocking a relatively normal dapper red suit. A slimmed down Christina Aguilera positively glowed throughout the night, but that may have been the spray-on tan. Partners in crime Adam Levine and Blake Shelton traded quips throughout the show.
