Jessica Sanchez’s age was really starting to work against her in the first round of ‘American Idol.’ She’s got a full, bluesy voice, but she doesn’t have the life experience to back up a blues performance. What she does have is the sincerity and talent to, as Jennifer Lopez put it, “captivate the whole audience," which is what she did in the second round.

Unfortunately, the first time around, Cavanagh couldn’t get the same kind of love from the judges that the other contestants got. However, she definitely proved that she's still in the running after her second performance of Miley's ballad.

And now we’ve all got it bad, and can’t wait for our chance to meet up with Phillips in the midnight hour after his ‘In the Midnight Hour.’
After finding herself in the bottom three last week, Skylar Laine had to prove she deserved to survive another week on ‘American Idol.’ And, as she put it, she “put on a pretty ol’ dress” and showed us something we hadn’t seen yet with an unbelievable performance of ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ from the movie ‘Beaches.’
