Avril Lavigne Covers Kesha’s ‘TiK ToK’

There's a lot of sharing going on between pop divas lately, like Katy Perry covering Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way.' Now, Avril Lavigne has offered her take on Kesha's 'Tik Tok' for Radio 1's Live Lounge. Lavigne's deconstructed version of Kesha's bouncy party anthem is acoustic and a bit softer, but it still retains Lavigne's (and ultimately Kesha's) signature sass. Lavigne and Kesha are both BWAs – blondes with attitude.

Lavigne looks smashing as always, with pink and green streaks dispersed through her stick-straight golden locks. She is also signing off a lyric sheet, so there were no noticeable flubs as she gracefully sailed through 'Tik Tok.' It's a refreshing change of pace to hear Avril toss off a rap, too. Overall, though, she gives the song the Avril touch, thanks to her signature pipes. And we love her jewel-encrusted microphone, too.

Both Lavigne and Kesha have worked with Dr. Luke, and this unexpected cover demonstrates that a hit song devised by a hit-making producer can sound totally different when sung by a different pop diva.
