Avril Lavigne closed out her Black Star Tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Feb. 18, which also marked the end of her 'Goodbye Lullaby' album cycle. Now, as a thank you to her fans and a way to wrap up the experience, the pop singer has released a new video for 'Goodbye.'

The clip begins with Avril speaking to her fans from her hotel room in Malaysia. "Thank you for taking the time to listen to ['Goodbye Lullaby'], to buy my songs, to buy my albums, and to come out to the shows," she says. "It means so much."

Although she seems strangely nervous and giddy on camera, she explains that her new video was shot by Mark Liddell at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles. She continues, "I just wanted this to be something to give to you guys to say thank you and to complete this album cycle, while I'm here completing the last show of the tour."

The video is mostly shot in black-and-white, and shows Lavigne checking into the hotel and getting ready for company. There are dozens of shots of the singer in her lingerie, staring off into the distance as she waits for someone to arrive. At one point, however, she realizes that no one is coming, and breaks down into tears. She takes off her wig and stares at her mascara-streaked face to her stark tune.

Lavigne is currently working on her next album with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
