Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis apparently has a thing for emotional breakup ballads. Kipnis wore a wireless microphone during Wednesday's Spring Training exhibition game and was heard briefly singing part of Adele's 'Someone Like You' between pitches.

His serenade went out live on the air, because the game was part of Major League Baseball's experiment with in-game audio. Regardless of whether Kipnis purposely busted out the performance because he knew the cameras were on him, or if he forgot he was wearing a mic and was caught in an "oops" moment, it doesn't sound like he will receive an invite to 'American Idol' or 'The Voice' anytime soon.

Kipnis claims we didn't get to hear the real deal. After the game, he tweeted, "They didn't get my clearer, louder version later in the game!! Adele would've been proud! #sortof." He added, "And the mic had nothing to do with it... I sing all the time!! It keeps me relaxed when I'm on the field #andentertained #dontfightthemusic!"

Kipnis claimed the song was in his head because he had watched a YouTube video of a subway busker belting out the tune. We prefer the subway singer's version over the baseball player's.
