After being rushed to the hospital earlier this week in the U.K. due to severe abdominal pain and inflammation of the colon, Bee Gees singer, Robin Gibb, is on the road to recovery.

On Nov. 23, Gibb, 61, wrote a heart-felt blog to his fans and supporters who were concerned that the medical complications are cancer related, as many media publications have said could be the issue.

"I wish to thank my family, friends and fans, and the many thousands of people who do not know me but have enjoyed Bee Gees music and have wished me well," Gibbs wrote [quotes via Us Weekly]. "I am very touched by your love, kindness and support."

"This concern from people all over the world has demonstrated the depth of feeling and love that the Bee Gees have achieved over the years," he continued to write. "It is humbling, and I take your prayers and good wishes for my health very seriously. I have been very unwell and am now on the road to recovery, and your prayers and wishes are a great tonic to me. I believe because of you I will get well and my deepest love goes out to you all."

In 2003, Gibb's twin brother, Maurice Gibb, passed away from intestinal complications. Stay tuned to PopCrush for all the latest news and updates about Gibb's health issues.
