Bella Thorne is trying on a new role for size, trading in her acting chops for something a little darker.

The 16-year-old will make a guest appearance on the new season of ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ this fall. She’ll be taking the spot of Hannah, “a very popular high school student with everything going for her,” according to E! News.

The twist? She’s the lead suspect in a criminal investigation following the murder of one of her classmates. Yikes!

Bella’s previous acting credits reside mostly in comedy, including her breakout role on Disney’s hit TV show ‘Shake It Up!’ and most recently as Adam Sandler’s awkward daughter in ‘Blended.’ ‘CSI’ will definitely be a new area for the actress to explore, but we’re confident she’ll be able to handle it.

Let’s start taking bets now: Is Bella’s character Hannah guilty or not guilty of murder?
