'Christmas on Death Row' might not be the first album that comes to mind when the holidays start rolling around, but the sheer uniqueness of this holiday rap LP makes it a keeper - and one for the record books.

The compilation album, which features Cali-bred hip-hop legends like Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg, was released in 1996 by the appropriately titled Death Row Records, and sold approximately 200,000 copies.

It might not the greatest release in the record label's history, but it's definitely one of the most entertaining Christmas albums ever. 'Tis the season for gifts of Hendog, weed and 6-7 Chevies, right?

'Christmas on Death Row' was released as a charity project, so the people involved definitely get extra points for having their hearts in the right place. Had the album featured all gangsta rap, which was ridiculously popular at the time, we have a feeling that it would've done wonders and sold many more records, but the fact that it included some soul music probably diluted the final product.

Understandably so, Snoop Dogg has the strongest cut on the album -- just don't let the title, 'Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto,' deter you from listening in.
