Best Dressed Singer at 2013 Oscars – Readers Poll
Last night at the 2013 Oscars, the red carpet was riddled with actors and filmmakers, but some pop singers made their way into the A-list mix as well.
Former Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, 2013 Oscar champ Adele and the always beautiful and mega talented Kelly Rowland all walked the red carpet at the 2013 Oscars, turning heads as they posed for the cameras. Naturally, we want to know which lady gets your pick for best dressed.
First up, we’ve got ‘Dream Girls’ actress Jennifer Hudson. J. Hud not only stunned on the red carpet in her gorgeous blue Robert Cavalli gown, but also onstage as she belted ‘And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,’ the song that helped win her a golden statue back in 2007. But back to the gown, which looked like it was inspired by a fish with its scale-like texture and metallic details. The dress clung to Hudson’s figure beautifully, and she topped it all off with a pair of bright blue, snakeskin Jimmy Choos.
Then there’s Adele, who needed to recover after the floral bomb she dropped at the Grammys. For the 2013 Oscars, she stuck to her more traditional formula of sparkly black gown, and it worked wonders for her. The Jenny Packham design she chose featured sheer sleeves, tons of beading and a tulle-like fabric — it was an absolute knockout on the British singer-songwriter. Her half-up, half-down hairdo looked retro and amazing with the dress, which she also wore while performing and accepting her Best Original Song trophy for the song ‘Skyfall.’
Finally, Kelly Rowland was the last of the pop songstresses to strut their stuff on the 2013 Oscar red carpet. Although she was not nominated this year, nor has been in the past, we were happy to see the Destiny’s Child hit maker present at the prestigious event. We didn’t love her Donna Karan dress as much as we loved Jennifer’s Cavalli gown and Adele’s Packham dress, but she looked dramatic and sexy in the structured, black and white design.
