It's official! Beyonce has become to 10th artist on the performance roster for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. When she hits the stage this Sunday, it will mark her first performance at the awards show since she wowed viewers with her live 'Single Ladies' rendition back in 2009.

In addition to performing, Beyonce is also nominated in three different VMA categories, including Best Female Video, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography for her post-apocalyptic, female-empowered 'Run the World (Girls)' clip. Beyonce has already racked nine moon men trophies, including her win for Video of the Year back in '09 for 'Single Ladies.'

Executive producer of the 2011 MTV VMAs and MTV's EVP of Music & Talent, Amy Doyle, released a statement on Beyonce's addition to the performer lineup. She said, "We are thrilled to have Beyoncé return to her rightful musical home at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards ... Her performances at the VMAs are legendary — leaving everyone breathless and talking for days. We can't wait to see her set the stage on fire once again!"

We wonder if Beyonce will stick to performing 'Run the World (Girls)' exclusively, or if she'll tantalize our ears and eyes with a mashup of some of her other '4' singles, including 'Best Thing I Never Had' and her upcoming single 'Party.' We will just have to tune in to see! The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will air on August 28 at 9PM EST.
