Beyonce to Cover Amy Winehouse on ‘Great Gatsby’ Soundtrack

She's been making waves lately for telling her haters to 'Bow Down,' but Beyonce will be doing a little bowing of her own in the not-too-distant future, with a newly recorded nod to the late, great Amy Winehouse.

E! Online reports that she's working on a song for Baz Luhrmann's upcoming 'Great Gatsby' remake -- the soundtrack to which is being produced by her hubby Jay-Z, natch -- and it sounds like it'll be a doozy. According to E!'s report, Beyonce is hooking up with none other than Andre 3000 for a cover of Winehouse's 'Back to Black.' A source at the label has promised "a very different take" on the song.

As the report points out, this isn't Beyonce and Andre's first time working together; they also collaborated a couple of years ago for her 2011 single, 'Party,' which failed to break the pop Top 40 but nearly topped the R&B/Hip-Hop chart (and proved a surprisingly big hit in South Korea). Something tells us we can expect more widespread across-the-board airplay for this track.

Details regarding the other artists on the soundtrack are still being kept under wraps, but Jay-Z has promised to deliver "the world's top musical artists" on the album, as well as what the Los Angeles Times calls "a modern 'Jazz Age' energy." 'The Great Gatsby' is currently scheduled to open May 10.
