Unbeknownst to Mrs. Carter, the director, played by Paul Rudd, decided to replace the female background dancers with Justin Timberlake, Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan, who wore leotards and high heels as they attempted to recreate Bey's dance moves. "What were you clowns doing?," she scolded them after they grinded on her during one take.

The tale eventually had a happy ending, and the image of Justin doing the 'Single Ladies' dance in that outfit will never be forgotten.
