Big Sean Announces Name of Sophomore Album
Big Sean recently announced that he is calling his second album 'Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player.' The title represents what the Motor City rhyme-spitter wants to achieve in the rap game -- hall of fame status.
"We all strive to be the best. If you don't do it to be the best I don't why the f--- you do it," he recently told a crowd at a concert in Montreal, Quebec.
After the major success of his gold-selling debut LP 'Almost Famous,' Sean is now focusing on building his brand and reaching more people with his sophomore album.
"I've been in the studio with [Kanye West] … building ideas with No I.D., even with Nas, with other people and really talking to 'em and soaking up where their minds is at," he told MTV News. "Then taking that and applying it to what I know myself. It ain't no choice but to be good."
Sean is certainly striving for hall of fame status. On Sept. 5, he dropped his free mixtape 'Detroit,' which, according to Global Grind, has netted over 1.4 million downloads and 3.3 million views on mixtape website DatPiff.com. And, of course, he appears with his G.O.O.D. Music clique on the compilation album 'Cruel Summer.'
No official word on when Big Sean's 'Hall of Fame' album will be released, but according to reports, the collection is set to drop in December.
