Dancing With The Stars contestant Bindi Irwin carried a massive python coiled around her body as she walked the red carpet for the show's premiere yesterday (September 12). In one fell swoop, she both expressed the same fearless love and enthusiasm for animals as her late father, Steve Irwin, and channeled one of Britney Spears’ most iconic performances.

Bindi’s DWTS partner, Derek Hough, posted a video to Instagram of the 17-year-old on the red carpet, captioning it with, "@bindisueirwin just chillin with a snake wrapped around her neck in the middle of the street on Hollywood blvd ... #teamCrikey.”

Bindi looks adoringly at the snake wrapped around her neck and says, “This is an albino burmese python. Her name is Sally and she loves dancing even though she doesn’t have any ears and can’t hear.”

She continues, “She’s very cute.” And when a disembodied voice (presumably belonging to Hough) says, “She’s terrifying,” Bindi responds, “It’s pretty cool though, she’s very cute."

Back in 2001, Britney performed her massive hit “I’m a Slave 4 U" at the MTV Video Music Awards. She reportedly kept tabs on the giant snake (affectionally named Banana) after the show, maintaining it was still alive a full two years later. That performance took place during Britney's true peak, and remains one of her most memorable. Check it out below.

Bindi will compete on Dancing With The Stars during its upcoming season along with other celebrities like Nick Carter, Andy Grammer, Paula Deen and more. Season 21 is set to premiere on Monday (September 14) at 8PM EST on ABC.
